Bartender (2006) Review

Wow, fifty episodes. It seems like just 16 months ago that we were complaining about Baka and Test... here's to the next 50!

So what are we reviewing on this special occasion? Bartender! An anime so boozed up that it required three reviewers to tackle! Give a nice, warm, Five Point Podcast welcome to MadShadow, everyone!

Cutie Honey Flash (1997) Review

Cutie Honey Month continues! Sailor Moon could be said to have borrowed some elements from Cutie Honey wholesale (specifically how the her disguise pen worked). So what's Cutie Honey Flash? A version of Cutie Honey that borrows elements from Sailor Moon wholesale! How does it work out? You'll just have to watch to find out.

New Cutie Honey (1994) Review

Huzzah, for once, Blip worked the FIRST time!

Cutie Honey month continues! Twenty years after the original series ended, it was brought to home video in the OVA New Cutie Honey. In the continuation of the original Cutie Honey series, Honey Kisuragi must fight bikers and monsters in a post apocalyptic future. Sounds like every single OVA ever made ever. So this is a step in the wrong direction... right?

Featuring special guest stars Burkion's cat and Bobcat's cold.

Cutie Honey (1973) Review

To kick off Cutie Honey month, we start with the series that started all (naturally). Is this a forgotten gem, or a horror best left buried? You'll just have to watch to find out.

Dante's Inferno Review

Uh oh... a movie based on an ultra-violent action video game based on a classical work of literature that wasn't ultra-violent? This must be crap.

Right?

The World God Only Knows Review

Five Point Podcast Episode 40: The World God... by fivepointpodcast
The World God Only Knows: It's The Last Starfighter, only with more Dating Sims and fewer clones and aliens.  It's also a premise that requires a master touch.  Does this show work or fall flat on its NERD face?  Guess you'll just have to watch.

Requested by friend of the show Yerocha.  You can see his stuff at http://shadesofgreymanga.wordpress.com/

Ghost Hound Review

This makes me long for the action packed, character based drama of Twilight. At least you could laugh at that...

Request by Paranormal Rob: http://planet-rob.com/.  (Rob, we really need to stop this cycle of revenge... we apologize for Hammerman, really!)

To Love-Ru Review

This week, we look at an anime famous for being an example of a harem anime and existing! Sounds exciting, right?  Right?

Also, this is our 100th blog post!  Hooray for milestones!

Opinionated Young Justice Review Pilot

This is a video that I (Bobcat) made about a month ago. It was the prototype for a review series about the Young Justice cartoon that I haven't had the time to work on. My biggest issue is a general lack of experience with video editing, and fear of copyright violations that would be involved in using the footage from the show, resulting in issues with using still frames from the show.

With that glowing recommendation, enjoy!

Star Driver Review

Star Driver, a trippy, bizarre magical boy robot anime starring a protagonist in a red t-shirt with a white star. Check out the review at fivepointpodcast.blogspot.net!

(whisper whisper)

fivepointpodcast.blogspot.net! It's dot com!

Also, apologies for the slightly wonky audio on my (Bobcat's) end.  I figured out what I was doing wrong only after the recording was all done.

The Legend of Korra Season 1 Review

A month in the making. Five combined hours recording between the two attempts at recording.  More than eight hours of editing.  Four hours of uploads.  One review.

It is... an epic length review of the Legend of Korra, the followup to the popular Avatar: The Last Airbender. How does it work out? ... we aren't fans.

If you'll excuse me, I'm just going to go over there and faint.

Also, play the drinking game at home: every time we say, "In a better written show," take a shot.

Gun X Sword Review

Firstly, some apologies for the wonky audio. There were issues with the recording that weren't noticed until too late.

In a world where anime studios have run out of ideas, one man, Vann the Stampede, comes to show us why everyone shudders at the name Gary Stu.
