Bobcat's Recommended Reviews

I've recently gone back and listened to a few of the old podcasts and I realized something: we are really self referential.  That is to say, we have in jokes and we compare characters to characters in other works we've reviewed without a lot of explanations.  This is a bit daunting for new viewers, I realize.  So, in the interest of helping new visitors out, here's my list of reviews that we refer to the most.  If you listen to no other old podcast episodes, these five ought to help you make sense of new ones.

Baka and Test First review, first use of the character description "Pink Haired Girl."
Tales From Earthsea Our first movie, and one we often refer back to when it comes to nonsensical plot twists.
Origin: Spirits of the Past Our second movie, which we refer to when it comes to dumb protagonists and villains who are the real heroess.
Misfits Our April Fools episode, which made Super Rape a power.  Possibly the worst thing we've reviewed yet.
Mobile Suit Gundam We like to make fun of the main character, Amuro, by saying his name strangely.

Baka and Test Review

WARNING: THIS REVIEW ISN'T AS POLISHED AS OUR LATER REVIEWS.  We've become much more sophisticated since then... for instance, I don't keep hitting the desk with my knee, making that weird mic sound every 10 seconds.

In the last post, I said it might be a few weeks before we came out with the first episode of the Blog.  Well, Christmas came early this year, because the first episode is now posted and ready to go!

In the inaugural episode of our series, Bobcat and Burkion review the anime Baka and Test!  This is the tale of Yoshi, a young Japanese student at a school that's turned tests into a competitive video game!  Does it pass with flying colors, or does it need to see us after school?  You'd better take notes, there will be a short quiz afterwards!

EDIT: I'm aware of the strange repeated last word. I'm not sure where it came from in the video file; it wasn't there in any of the audio versions. I'll be more careful in the future.

First Review Announcement

I'd like to announce that our first review will be of the first three episodes of the anime Baka and Test.  Why only the first three?  We decided that for any multi-part series, we'd review roughly a movie's worth of episodes, with the option to review the rest of it later if we felt that it warranted more attention.
