Hey guys, I just heard that Toonami's back!

Much to my shock, the new Toonami includes Casshern Sins.  I must say that I was honestly shocked when I saw it on the list, given how grim and, frankly, weird it is.

Hm... it seems to me some clever and handsome reviewers did a review of Casshern a few months back, with the help of a certain manga blogger guest star... (wink wink)

If you missed it the first time around, it's not too late!  See what all the fuss is about!

Announcement: Paint It Black Month

This June, the Five Point Podcast will review four shows. What do they have in common? By amazing coincidence, the word Black is in all of their titles. Hey, I've heard of flimsier justifications for a theme month.

Enjoy as we cover the well known, the obscure and one bizarre show based on the work of... ROGER CORMAN. There will be...

Crossovers!
Vampires!
Surgeons!
Child Abuse!
And more!
The Schedule:

6/3: Black Blood Brothers (Request from Angel of the Wolf)
6/10: Black Heaven (Request from Angel of the Wolf)
6/17: Black Scorpion (Request from Legendmaker) (Guest star Legendmaker)
6/24: Black Jack (Guest star Yerocha)

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit Review

This week, special guest star Space Wizard Tom comes on to discuss Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit. In an Asian flavored fantasy world, a spear maiden must protect a young prince marked for death. So was it great, or more the anime equivalent of a video game escort mission? Psht, like we're going to tell you in the description. Watch the video, silly.

The Least Popular Reviews

As I go over the blip.tv statistics, I realize that (gasp) people are more interested in some series than they are in others.  This saddens me, since some of the more neglected reviews are also some of my favorites.  So, in an attempt to convince you (the listeners at home) to give these reviews a second shot, here are the five reviews that were the least listened to (taking into account how long they've been up on the site), in order from most to least:

1. Origin: Spirits of the Past
2. Heroman
3. Getter Robo
4. Time of Eve
5. Asura Cryin'

This leads me to ask why some of these are overlooked.  We've attempted to do a mix of the obscure and the popular, and it seems like popular series are the most listened to.  Why is there less demand for obscure titles?  I would personally expect there to be more demand for the obscure, since that's where a review would be really helpful in guiding you towards something you've never heard of before.  We'd be interested in what everyone out there had to say on the topic.

Dragonaut: The Resonance Review

In our first request from Angel of the Wolf (who is very patient considering that she gave us about 20 suggestions more than a month ago and this is the first one we're getting to), we take a look at Dragonaut: The Resonance.  Robot Dragons From Outer Space!  What could possibly go wrong?

Bobcat's Recommended Reviews

I've recently gone back and listened to a few of the old podcasts and I realized something: we are really self referential.  That is to say, we have in jokes and we compare characters to characters in other works we've reviewed without a lot of explanations.  This is a bit daunting for new viewers, I realize.  So, in the interest of helping new visitors out, here's my list of reviews that we refer to the most.  If you listen to no other old podcast episodes, these five ought to help you make sense of new ones.

Baka and Test First review, first use of the character description "Pink Haired Girl."
Tales From Earthsea Our first movie, and one we often refer back to when it comes to nonsensical plot twists.
Origin: Spirits of the Past Our second movie, which we refer to when it comes to dumb protagonists and villains who are the real heroess.
Misfits Our April Fools episode, which made Super Rape a power.  Possibly the worst thing we've reviewed yet.
Mobile Suit Gundam We like to make fun of the main character, Amuro, by saying his name strangely.

Apocalypse Zero Review

We've had series recommended to us for a number of reasons. This is the first that was specifically asked of us because of how bad it was. Thanks a lot, SpacemanHardy. On the plus side, it gave us an excuse to bring in reinforcements, in the form of Paranormal Rob.

Conglomerated Commercial Video Episode IV- A New Hope

Another installment of our YouTube commercials. Probably not our best work on that regard, admittedly, but there's some in here that I think are amusing.

Burk's choice again.  He says that this bird was rendered suicidal by the LAST video he chose.

AMV of the Week #9

It's Bobcat's turn this week.  I'm not sure if this one fits more as an AMV or a Friday Randomness, but I hope you all enjoy it nontheless.

Rosario + Vampire Review

Happy Birthday, Burkion! As a gift to himself, Burkion chose the harem anime Rosario + Vampire. The question is... why would he do a fool thing like that?

Due to the subject matter this episode, we don't recommend this one for children. Not that we're for children in general, but we're especially not for children this week.

Friday Randomness #9

Bobcat's choice this week. Is it possible to have nostalgia for games you never played? Because that's the sort of feeling this one gives me.

 Video after the break.
